Meet Maeve!

@MaeveMcBride (she/they) is an educator, erotic and BDSM coach, sexological herbalist, event producer, and community organizer, who has been exploring the intersections of kink, sacred sex, plants, and personal alchemy for more than 20 years.

A fun, sensual, and compassionate switch-witch, Maeve enjoys empowering folx of all persuasions to work towards their unique health, erotic and sexual goals. She teaches classes and consults with clients who are looking to explore and break down their barriers to sexual, sensual, and kinky pleasure. Her process involves combining evidence-based teaching methods, anatomy geekery, goal setting, mind-body-spirit trauma healing techniques, communication tools, the use of plant preparations, a sense of playfulness, experimentation, and exploration, in a non-judgmental environment.

Maeve works with individuals, couples, and groups and presents classes in person, online, and at conferences. Her goal is always to help clients and students to assemble a toolkit of things that work for their own unique needs. She provides guidance and presents tangible tools and information that can be used over and over to help folx connect more deeply with themselves, with their desires, and with their partners, heal trauma and shame, and empowers individuals to live more embodied and pleasure-filled lives.

Classes Offered:

Fall-ing for the Sensual Art of Flogging

Flogging is a wonderful way to create a variety of sensations from gentle caresses, to deliciously thuddy impact, to sting-y whacks that make your toes curl. It can also be a great kinky workout!

With the wide variety of floggers that are available, you can create a seemingly endless array of variation in sensation and experience to delight your bottoms and partners. This class will cover impact anatomy and safety, flogger selection and care, rhythm, sensation scaling, and techniques for increasing your confidence in your flogging abilities, adding variety to your impact play, leaving your partner feeling satiated by the end of your scene.

Informed Kinking: Vetting, Limits, Risk Profiles, Boundaries and Negotiation

Getting the kinky play that you want involves knowing your desires, knowing your boundaries, risk profiles, and limits, AND communicating them effectively.

In this class, we will cover the topics one can consider when developing their own unique boundaries, limits, and risk profiles for kinky play. We will then cover what criteria to consider when vetting potential play partners, whether it be pick-up play or a longer-term partnership. We will then bring it all together with different ways to communicate your boundaries, limits, and risk profiles with your play partners.

Making an Impact: Sensual to Sadistic Percussive Play

It's not the size of the implement you use; it's what you do with it! Impact play is more than just whacking butts (although that certainly is one of the most fun things to do). This class will cover anatomy and safety considerations for safer play and then deep dive into the panopoly of impact play toys, materials, and ways you can use your body to create a myriad of sensations for your bottom. From the swift sting of the cane, to the thwack of a paddles, to the rhythmic percussion of your own hands and fists. Come learn the ins and outs to creating safer scenes from sensual to sadistic!

Party Rules:

There are play stations in the dungeon, and a gathering/smoking area in the backyard. Please keep noise levels appropriate to the area. The neighbors are aware, but they can still hear you.

  • Mistress Sierra is a certified Dungeon Master with current CPR and First Aid certifications from the American Red Cross. There is a first aid station located in the medical room. If you need it, use it.
  • If you brought a guest, you are responsible for that guest and their behavior. It is your responsibility to make sure that your guest understands etiquette and party rules. Should your guest get out of line, both you and your guest will be asked to leave.
  • A smoking area is set up outside. Please smoke in appropriate areas only.
  • Alcohol and illicit drugs are not allowed at this party.
  • Do not assume that the attire makes for the position. Simply said, a collar does not make a sub any more than a flogger makes a top or dominant. When in doubt, ask.
  • Be tolerant of things you didn't expect. There will likely be a variety of kinks and types of people. All deserve common courtesy.
  • Keep your cell phone silenced.
  • Photography is only allowed if all persons in the picture agree to have their picture taken. Be aware of who is in the background of your photo. Also, each person must give consent before the photo is posted publicly.
  • This is not a pick-up joint. You may politely ask others to play, but if they say no, respect their wishes.
  • Just because someone is a dominant does not mean you have to obey them. Just because someone is a sub does not mean they have to obey you. Actually, this rule of thumb goes for submissives, bottoms, tops, and doms of all kinds.
  • No one who is not your own personal partner owes any deference to you beyond common, everyday courtesy.
  • Do not touch people's toys, floggers, etc. that are lying around without finding the owner and asking. This includes the items hanging on the walls of the dungeon. Even if someone lets you hold a flogger, it is also courteous to ask again before swinging it through the air at an imaginary target or your forearm. Do not run a knife or wartenburg pinwheel along your skin to test its sharpness---the owner might have gone to great pains to sterilize the blade in expectation of an upcoming scene, and sharp edges break skin without always leaving marks or drawing blood.
  • The house safeword is RED for stop. A Dungeon Monitor (DM) will intervene in a scene if they hear the word RED and the top in the scene does not stop the scene. Once RED is called, the DM will assess the situation, aid as needed, and stop the scene if necessary.
  • If a scene interferes with the bottom's ability to speak (gags, hoods, etc.) a pre-approved safe signal must be arranged between the DMs and party hostess PRIOR to beginning the scene. All scenes starting prior to obtaining this approval will be interrupted.
  • Tops or dominants are NEVER to leave their submissive/bottom unattended during play. Should you need to leave the room, ask the DM or other trusted person to watch over your play partner until you return. Use common sense.
  • Leave space for the top to move, swing a flogger, etc. during a scene. If the room is too crowded, stand against the far wall or leave the room. If the top asks you to move, then move! If you get close enough to disturb the scene, the top would be within their rights to swing the whip at you.
  • Be quiet while scenes are going on! Be polite, and don't talk. Yours could be the remark that ruins a wonderful scene for someone.
  • Do not address comments or questions to the top or the bottom while they are playing! Do not ever touch or get too close to the scene.
  • Do not join in scenes, even if it looks like they are free-for-alls. Join in only if the top clearly beckons you in.
  • Do not hog play furniture for hours on end with your own scene. If play furniture and play spaces are scarce, ask the host for an estimate of a reasonable amount of time to use it.
  • Respect the playspace. Clean up after messy scenes. Avoid blood splatter. Wipe down equipment with supplied antibacterial wipes after each use. Use a drop cloth when waxing. Condoms, lube, and gloves are supplies. Please use them if you are not fluid-bonded with your partner.
  • If you feel uncomfortable about anything at the party, talk to the hostess. We want feedback so we can create an environment that accommodates a variety of comfort levels, and so we can decide what kinds of play and which attendees make for enjoyable parties. We cannot handle a situation if you do not tell us.
  • Do not mention anyone at the party to those not at the party without that person's express permission to name them.
  • Especially do not post to the list or any other public forum in a way that identifies someone else without permission.
  • Even mentioning someone in an email without that person's permission can be considered a violation of etiquette.

The Atomic_Army

In short, Atomic Army's intent is to be spiritual and to support others' own authentic approach to spirituality, expression, and education. Atomic Army's intent is to be spiritual in its actions. Spirituality is recognizing and celebrating that we are all inextricably connected to each other by a power greater than all of us and that our connection to that power and to one another is grounded in love and compassion. Practicing spirituality brings a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose to our lives. Using spirituality and the law of attraction will bring our goals to life for us and those around us to make the world better.

Atomic Army's Shared Goals:

  • To inspire others and ourselves to explore and utilize spirituality in any form.
  • To inspire others to reach what "authenticity" means to them.
  • To better educate others about play, the lifestyle, and emotional intelligence.
  • To help grow the sex-positive community in the Willamette Valley and elsewhere.
  • To help promote pluralism among the leather community.
  • To get our rocks off.

“Each person is a drop in the pool of life, and without all of us together, there would be no swimming”. - Mistress Sierra
