Book Club The Different Drum | Chapters 1 & 2

Jan 7th
1 AM - 3 AM

Come virtually join us for a series of online sex positive book club discussions. The book we will be exploring is “A Different Drum on Community Making and Peace” by M. Scott Peck, M.D. All are welcome, whether you’ve read the section or not, please join us for the discussion!

Each discussion will begin with a short review of the chapters.

About the book:

Although we have developed the technology to make communication more efficient and to bring people closer together, we have failed to use it to build a true global community. Dr M. Scott Peck believes that if we are to prevent civilization destroying itself, we must urgently rebuild on all levels, local, national and international and that is the first step to spiritual survival. In this radical and challenging book he describes how the communities work, how group action can be developed on the principles of tolerance and love, and how we can start to transform world society into a true community.

Why this (not super sexy sounding) book?

Sex Positive World is a community, we like to connect in sexy ways, and that’s inherently vulnerable. So let’s learn how to create a community that creates a culture that welcomes vulnerability and therefore pleasure for everyone.

This book was also recommended to the board by our founder Gabriella Cordova upon her departure from leading this organization. It is full of wisdom relevant to anyone that’s looking for more healthy connection with this world and the creatures on it too.
